Rio de Janeiro won the right Friday to host the 2016 Olympic Summer Games. Cariocas erupted in joy when the announcement was made in the Danish capital, Copenhagen. The International Olympic City voted for Rio over Chicago, Madrid and Tokyo. The BBC’s Gary Duffy describes the scene in Rio.
